During the period of 31st March – 4th May, IDS AirNav has successfully completed the training activities related to its Flight Procedure Design and Airspace Management (FPDAM) Software with ENAV.
The course has been performed through the use of virtual meeting platforms made available by the Company. It allowed the sharing of training material and screens, reducing the distances among the participants and ensuring the effectiveness of the results.
This result clearly proves the possibility to perform the planned services, minimizing the impacts of the current COVID-19 worldwide crisis.
IDS AirNav would like to thank all the staff for the availability and professionalism shown, because this is the first step, remembering that soon #wewillflyagain
IDS AirNav in April was awarded two contracts: in Mozambique and Romania.
In particular, IDS AirNav has been selected by Aeroportos De Mozambique, the company that manages Maputo airport in Mozambique, for the supply of an advanced system for the management of aeronautical messages and information – AMHS (Aeronautical Message Handling System) and a Dynamic AIM (Aeronautical Information Management) called CRONOS. The project is expected to be completed in 2020 and has a value of 461 thousand euro.
The second contract was signed with the Romanian Civil Aviation Authority for the setup of a platform for flight procedures design, staff training and maintenance for a total amount of 310 thousand euro.
IDS AirNav successfully completed the training activities on its ICE aeronautical cartography product, with Swedish (LFV) and Icelandic (ISAVIA) Customers. Two of the main European Air Navigation Service Providers, located on two sites, separated by a distance of more than 2,500 km, were simultaneously connected to Italy, from where the training was provided, in Smart Working mode.
Finally IDS AirNav successfully provided the training for the Icelandic Customer (ISAVIA), related to its eTOD product, for obstacle management and cartography.
The training activities were carried out remotely, by means of the virtual meeting tools available, which also allowed to share material and participant’s screens, effectively reducing the distances between the participants and ensuring effective results.
It demonstrates the possibility of continuing to carry out the planned services, minimizing the impacts of the current world situation relating to COVID-19.

IDS AirNav has been selected by DSNA – French Air Navigation Service Provider – for the supply and development of the
SEPIA, a new system for the Aeronautical Information Management. The contract has a total value of 15 million euro and a duration of four years for the implementation and an additional four years for the maintenance.
ENAV announces that it has been selected as sole vendor for the Saudi Future Airspace Concept (SFAC), together with its subsidiary IDS AirNav and its partner Blue Horizon Telecom.
IDS AirNav has been selected by GACA (General Authority of Civil Aviation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) jointly with SANS (Saudi Air Navigation Services) and the contract has a total value of 12 million euro and is expected to be completed in 3 years.
In a recent visit by the SANS CEO Ryyan Tarabzoni to the ENAV offices in Rome Ciampino, the two companies identified a number of additional potential areas of joint collaborations
During this week a delegation of STATE ATM, the Russian Air Navigation Service Provider, headed by Yuri Tokerav (Deputy General Director of State ATM Corporation) Roman Bondarenko (ATM/ASM Deputy Director), Svetlana Yadrova (Data Management responsible) and Emil Ragimov (responsible for Airspace management) has conducted a successful technical workshop focused on the IDS AIRNAV Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) solution with the scope of improving the Russian Airspace program.
SANS (Saudi Air Navigation Service) visited IDS AirNav to approve the final design of the AIM system which will be deployed in Jeddah in the second half of this year.
During the 3 weeks session SANS and the IDS AirNav engineers finalized more than twenty project documents which define every details of the AIM solution.
Before the Critical Design Review (CDR) fourteen trainees from SANS participated to an extensive five weeks factory training which allowed SANS technical and operational team to reach the desired level of knowledge of IDS AirNav technology: a necessary precondition to effectively assist the CDR session.
The next step of the project is the Factory Acceptance planned in March 2020. After the achievement of this milestone the project will continue directly in Saudi Arabia where are planned two different site acceptance milestones: the first one for the NOTAM system in July and the final one in December 2020. The system will be delivered on a turn key bases with more the 300 aeronautical charts (airport, procedure, obstacle, enroute) ready to be maintained by using the IDS AirNav Technology.
IDS AirNav and DECEA successfully accomplished the execution of the Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) of the NOTAM Contingency System.
DECEA is the Air Navigation Service Provider, which guarantees the provision of Air Navigation Services over Brazilian Airspace.
Such integrated HW/SW system is provided to DECEA by IDS AirNav and it is in operations on two sites:
• The production site, which is in operations since 2018 and manages about 2.5 millions of NOTAM messages per year.
• The contingency system, which ensures the continuity of DECEA operations, in case of unavailability of the production site.
The NOTAM System provided by IDS AirNav serves DECEA NOTAM Office, which is located in Rio de Janeiro and four NOTAM Regional Centres (Brasilia, Curitiba, Manaus and Recife).
The successfully accomplishment of the NOTAM Contingency System SAT is the final project milestone, which enables the system go – live in operations.
IDS AirNav and Zambia Airports Corporation successfully accomplished the execution of the Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) of the Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) System.
Zambia Airports Corporation mandate is to develop, maintain and manage the four designated international airports and to provide air navigation services throughout the Republic of Zambia.
Such integrated HW/SW system is provided to Zambia Airports Corporation by IDS AirNav, with the following main missions:
• Aeronautical Data Management.
• Terrain and obstacle data management and obstacle charting production.
• Creation and maintenance of aeronautical charts based on GIS technology.
• Flight procedure and airspace design.
• Airspace and route design and management.
